Read-a-thon 2008
Each year we hold a month long read-a-thon.  The students are encouraged to read as many pages as they can during the month and to collect sponsorship money for their efforts.  There are rewards for pages read and money earned on an individual level, but this year our Assistant Principal challenged the student body to collectively earn $7000 in pledges, and if they did, he would shave his head.  Well, as you can imagine, we had the best read-a-thon participation ever and the students read their way to an unprecedented $7099.74!  So on April 23, 2008, the second graders, having raised the most money as a class, buzzed Mr. Soule's hair right off his head!  It was so fun to have the entire student body cheering them on!
